Ok i just got a set of 18x9 white mustang bullets. The spacing is + 26mm with 6.11 backspacing. My truck is lowered about 3 inches and i was wondering what tire size i should get. At this moment my truck is lowered and on bumps my stock tires rub at the top. My stock tires have a diameter of 28.8 inches and are like 8.5 inches wide or so. I was thinking of getting something like a 255/50R18. Do you think i will need spacers to keep the rubbing off the suspention? I was also considering going down to 255/45R18. Anyone have any input on tires?

BTW these are what i got for a very nice price:

Most people go with a 255/55/18. Pirelli is the only one that makes a 255/50/18 and they're $265 per tire. 255/45/18 is a little small, coming around at 27 inches in diameter.

I was searching around and i like the look and most of all the price of the Kumho ECSTA STX. Anyone have experiance with these?

I've heard good things about Kumho tires. They aren't too expensive, the performance is good, and the treadwear is good as well.

The only thing I have against the Kumho is weight. In 255/55-18 size they weigh 47 lbs. Most others in that size weigh betweem 32-35 lbs. That is a lot of additional unsprung weight.

without a doubt i would get nitto 404 255/55/18 on all 4- those rims will be awesome

here are a pic of the tires- my rears are diff. but you can see them here up front- just kidding i have a new computer and now i dont' have them within easy reach sorry

Do you think those white Bullit rims would fit a Gen III X? Mainly I worry about the hub size and rubbing

yes they will fit, explorer express has a pic floating around here somewere....

i would also go with the 255/55/18. im a big fan of Nitto's.

I am not positive that those Cobra Wheels will fit on a gen 2 X. They may fit on a 2WD ,but I am not sure about the AWD/4WD. The 18" Cobra Replica wheels we carry have a +24 offset and a 5 7/8" backspacing and they just clear. The Bullet Replica Wheels we carry only come in a 17" size.

By the way, we have the 285/50-18 Pirelli Scorpian Zero for $199.95 ea. plus shipping.

Here is a gen 2 Explorer with the 17" Bullet Replica Wheels.

Hey John, is that the 35th anniversary Mustang scoop? Looks too short to be the 01+ GT hood. Was that hard to put on? What did it take?

Actually i havent gotten my truck back from the auto body shop yet but by the look of the wheel it will fit. There is about a 2.5 deep and a normal hub diameter for the front hub. If they wont fit then i'll run some spacers. I got them for CHEAP off ebay for $415 INCLUDING shipping.

The hood scoop on the Silver X is an aftermarket scoop that is similar to the 02-03 Mustang but has slightly different demensions. The scoops can be mounted with screws or 3M adhesive tape. I used the tape because I was not commited to drilling holes in the hood! The 3M tape holds STRONG, I am not worried about it coming off. They are avaible painted to match for $174.95 + shipping or in primer for $109.95.

Does EE sell the scoop? I always hear you talk about products on here but can never find them on your website.

Edit: Alas I did find it during a forum search. You guys really need to update your website or make a new catalog or something.

good lord that sport trac is nice! Is it lowered, also what kind of wheels are those? they look kinda like some Boyds buddy of mine has, but im not sure.

I'm not a big fan of the sport trac or lower looking trucks, but that sport trac is nice. That looks really clean.

Just an Update: I ended up getting Falken Ziex 255/55r18's. Got them for $357 including shipping!
