I've been having some problems as of recently with my '01 SOHC engine. It idles extremely rough. Also, when I cold start it, I can put the pedal in the floor and it wont go above 2100 rpms. However, if I keep the pedal down it will eventually jump and respond like it should, but then bog right back down to 2100ish rpms. I got a CEL on the way to school today, taking it up to my buddy's to read the code once they let us free.

Read some of the threads around here but never got a definitive answer.

I've had the rough idle for a while, but the bogging down just started in the past week (major temperature drop for NC, low 20s) and the CEL came on this morning.

help?

Just remembered my buddy used my X to tow a trailer with about 800 lbs of music equipment with a bumper mount ball. Not sure if that would have caused this or not.

Could be the IAC, vacuum leak, or intake gaskets, however I'm not sure any of those will throw a CEL. Definitely pull the codes first.

Took it up to the shop
After replacing a blown fuse that wouldnt let the machine read, it read a random misfire detected code
They cleared it and said if it comes back on head up there. They said moisture just probably got in the plugs from all the snow we've had.
Probably gonna pull em and check em when I get the time.
