I had to pull the drivers side head, and have it all back together again. I started it and it runs somewhere between 5-10 seconds and shuts off. I can hear clicking noises when it runs and about a second afterwards too. I watched and the A/C compressor seems to be engaging and disengaging. I think that's the noise, but, why is all this happening? Any ideas? Thanks!

Brian.. on the top of the A/C clutch unit there is an electrical connector. You have to press a tab but you can disconnect it. Do that. Remove it (the A/C compressor) from the equation and then see what happens...

looks like you have had a hell of a time with that truck good luck

How is the fuel system?

Yes, I have had a hell of a time with this truck! lol Anywho, I'll try the A/C thing mentioned above. The fuel system was fine before I began this project.

Wait... I just thought of something. When I started all of this, I broke a part, I'm not sure what it is called. It is a small metal can with an electrical connector on the back side and a plastic vacuum tee on the front with markings indicating the engine side. The vaccum hose runs from the throtle body to it. The other side runs to the evaporative canister. This must be some kind of valve but there is no mention of it in the manuals. I broke the engine side of the tee off when I moved it out of the way. Broke easy too. I superglued it back together. Maybe it's not sealing? Anyone know what this part is called and where to get it?

I think I figured out what the part is called. Perhaps it is the canister purge valve? I'm going to get a scan tool and see what it comes up with.

It is the cansiter purge valve. I just replaced mine with one from Napa for 27.00. Works well. There are posts on here about how to safely remove it and replace it without breaking the nylon tubes.
