Hey guys, I just finished installing my 275/70 16 duelers on my X and i have a question. I have searched all over this site to find this and came up blank. Does anybody know of a website or a formulat to use so i can get an idea of how much off my spedometer is. I went from 255/70 16 to 275/70 16. I don't think it's off more than a couple of miles, but I want a more confident idea. I also got the 4.10 gears in the rear if i need that.

Exp,
You happen to have a pic of your new tires on your truck? Any chance they happen to be on stock rims? I'm interested to how much difference those 275s look vs 235s. I gotta get new tires here pretty quick, just doing a littl e window shopping first.

You're tire size went up 3.66 % I wouldn't worry about it. It means at 75 mph, you'll actually be going 77.75 MPH. Basically at highway speeds (60 MPH and up you'll be off by about 2-3 mph)

Hokie, that's what I was thinking. I guess i just needed to be re-assured. Thanks man.

Yep, they are on the stock 16x8. They look great, i was going for the look of filling in the wheel well a little more and i think it looks perfect. I'll post pics when i get some.

what kind of dueler's did you get? the REVO's or the D693's?

Both are very good tires, as I have owned both :)

I have pictures of my 31" REVO's on my ranger, but then again, you were looking for explorer pics MOUSIN

Ranger pics work. I just kinda want to see em on something. How are these larger tires affectuing your gas milege?

I got the Revo, and am very happy with them so far. Looking forward to snow.

Only had them on for a couple of days and haven't really noticed a difference. Monday will be the first real test, do the 120 mile round trip to work and i'll get a good idea of the difference. I don't think it's going to be much at all.

Well I just went through my first tank of gas on the 31's and all I can say is, WHAT????? I got almost 280 miles out of 16 gallons, that's almost 40 miles more than I got before with the stockers. I am going to watch it for the next couple of tanks to see what's going on, probably just a fluke, but one can hope huh.

I would think your milege would DECREASE. In fact most people I know that do larger tires gripe about losing milege. that's one major reason that I haven't done it ye (gas is too dang high to be losing out)

Heck, if it's going up 40 miles at tank, I'm getting bigger tires!!!!!.

Like you said, it may be a fluke though

Then again, I've pretty much been doing nothing but off road miles (since she's parked during the week). On the highway, I think i got 20 MPG last time! (Haven't filled up yet)
