Here's the story: I had an appointment at a reputable muffler shop that did work fo me before. Once they got my X on the lift, they gave me EVERY excuse in the book that dual tailpipes wouldn't fit. I said I saw it done before (pics from you guys here). They said it would rattle, it would melt the gas tank, they said they would only do it if I removed the spare tire and hitch. Now I drove 3 hrs. to get to this place, so I am getting pretty pissed now. I asked if them to do it anyway and if it rattled or my gas tank would blow up, I wouldn't blame them, but they refused. So I left.
I then drove around Long Island stopping at every muffler shop I could find, either no one would build dual tailpipes for me or they wanted WAY too much money. One place wanted $400 bucks just to do the pipes, that wasn't including installing the muffler. Another place wanted to run the drivers side pipe infront of my differential, I was like "wtf am I gonna do if I ever have to get into the rear end, like to service it??"
Anyway I found a shop that installed my dual in/dual out FloMo and bent me some pipes, it took the guy like 3 hours, but he did one hell of a job, they even threw in a set of tips and only charged me $225, a great place to deal with, the guy looked under there and couldn't beleive no one else would do it. He weldup everything up, put on extra hangers, really did a profesional job.
And it sounds AWSOME!! nice rumble at idle, has that FloMO sound when you get on it, and only a mellow rumble while crusing, it sounds better than I thought it would, I heard 3 chamber FloMo's before on a Bronco and it sounded no louder than stock, and I am so used to 2 chambers, I was woriried that the X wouldn't sound good, but it sounds GREAT!! I recomend this to anybody, just find yourself a good muffler shop.
I truely have a unique X now, not to many X's have dual tailpipes!! Thanks a lot guys!!
