Greasing the upper balljoints

So I am slapping some grease all over the nipples of my 94 Exploder. I come to the upper ball joints and I can't get the fitting of my grease gun over the nipple because the u joint of the axles are in the way.

I did replace these myself about 4 months ago.

Anyone have a clue as to how I can get around this

Seems like the fitting that you can't get to must be a straight out fitting. The grease fitting just screws in, I think, so how about taking that one out (if you can get a wrench in there) and putting a 45 degree grease fitting in its place. My dad's got 45 degree grease fittings on the upper ball joints of his F-150 and they're easy to get to. Maybe this isn't an option in your case, but just an idea. Hope it helps.
