I've got a 91 XLT. I just changed the plugs and wires. While doing this I saw that the plug on cylinder 3 had a greenish tinge to it. The guy I bpught it from said there was a small leak in the head gasket that let some coolant in. This shows in the bit of white smoke that come at start-up until warm. I'm guessing that once warm the gasket expands and seals the hole a little. What I'm asking is, since she runs well and shows no signs of a fully blown gasket( ie: no loss of power). Should/Could I hold off till later to replace the gasket when warmer and we can work on it at home. It burns about half the resevoir of Antifreeze a week. (Avg. 30-35 miles a day)

What do you think?

I would recommend getting it done soon. If you wait too long it could cause damage to other things.

I agree. Coolant and crankshaft bearings don't get along very well.

you better hope you haven't already toasted the block deck. Things like heads and block tend to warp when they're not sealed properly. I'd tear it apart as soon as possible and hope for the best.
