Grill question on newer explorers

On the newer sports, 99-00, the plastic grill insert that is gray and is a crossed pattern, does that disconnect from the front plastic piece where it is attached? What i'm trying to do is take one of these off a newer explorer and put it on my 95 sport, anyone attempted this or know a link where I can get information on this, I don't want aftermarket, I want one exactly like stock, also does anyone know where to get just this piece from?

Yes it does.
I had mine off some time ago to paint to make it stand out more.
Turned out real nice.

you should be able to get one from Ford or a junk yard.
It actually is NOT part of the grille but it clips onto the header pannel.
So the grille needs to be off to acess this part.
