Howdy-

Has anyone modified a sport trac or 2-dr sport grille to accept auxilliary driving lights mounted? Similar to the mustang grille-mounted fogs, or this

I had an 02 ranger, with some driving lights I mounted behind the grille. I loved the look and function, but the ST grille has that horizontal bar preventing that.

I seen it either on the Tacoma forum or maybe something to do w/ the raptor but it's basically a delete- as in you delete that horizontal bar. Shave it at the vertical sides but the way they are shaped you would have to fill in (fiberglass/body filler) where the horizontal bar connected.

I really want to do this but it is way down on the list. But I think it will look clean/mean and I don't think I have seen a st with a different style grill- inserts yes, grill no.

haven't seen anyone with that kind of mod. I'm not sure I've even seen a lightbar in the grill. Had a silly idea at one point to install some popup lights into the hood..

You could use the smaller KC lights that are like 2.5" in diameter or an LED bar. I recall seeing someone a few years back that changed the grill to look like the later model rangers but I don't remember who it was.

that's cool, so cut out the horizontal bar, I imagine, for a look like the 04+ rangers?

I don't remember how they did it, but I'm pretty sure the grill is actually 2 separate black mesh pieces that are held in by that middle bar which means you wouldn't be able to just cut it out. I could be wrong, as it's been a while since I've had my bumper cover off so I'd have to look at it again to be certain.

I've seen this. Check other truck forums. Its pretty common
