I have 4 KC Day Lighters and a surco roof rack. What do you ground the lights on the roof to? There really is no good ground up there, is there? The lights come with a ring connector so that they will attach to the light mount and whatever you mount them to. In my case it's the rack. But is the rack a good ground?

I'm not sure if the rack would work as a ground.

i backed out a screw holding my rack to the roof in the rails, but i dont know itf that is going to cut it for lights... it may be too inadequate.... you might have to just run dedicated power wires......

You could always run the ground with the power wire and just ground it on the negitave post on the battery.

I just ran my ground with my power and grounded inside the drivers side panel.

I just ran the ground to the closest bolt on the luggage rack. I checked the impedence and only a few of the bolt holes have a good ground. If you are going to do this, check the impedence and use a solid ground
