My Superlift coils are garbage!!! After approx 25,000km (15,600 miles) they have sagged so much that the tires are riding on the inside edge!!!!   Between the coils and the bad ball joints it looks like my front wheels are about to fall off! I am going to buy the Skyjacker 6" coils tomorrow and I may even put in a couple of coil spacers. I'll have the ball joints done this week. I just don't have the time to do it myself.

Is this put to hardcore limits? Or just by everyday driving? You seem like a nut on the trail......

There has been some fairly hard trail use but the majority of it has been street and highway miles. That is why I am so dissapointed in how long they have lasted.

I am not quite sure how I should take that so I'll just say... thanks. :D ;)

Other people have had the same problem with the Superlift coils. I believe that's why Paul B. ended up changing his. I don't remember who else did, but I know it has been a common problem for some people. Our Superlift coils have held up just great! Thank goodness.
Even if they were used for hard core, they shouldn't sag as quickly as I have heard they do. If they're going to build coils for a lift kit maybe they shoud specify if the coils are for real offroading or just show and tell. That's all the companies not just Superlift!
Unfortunately, it seems so many of the lift kits or parts of lift kits are just for show and tell. That's what ended up causing our vehicle to get a custom lift. Can't afford to break every weekend and then have the truck in the shop all week. Our 4x4 shop finally figured out that replacing the broken parts was futile soooooooooooo fabricated parts were the next step. $$$$$ Kaching! :D

Bummer...

I just bought some...damn.

Guys, reread my above post Rick corrected me on a few things. Sorry, about that. I'm a bad girl. :(

Mine have also done this. I need better camber adjusters so I can get it so my tires don't ride on just one side of them and then I will live with it. I also notice the other day that my springs rub the spring towers on the drivers side tower. I thought that was pretty weird. I will have to look more into this in the future.

What a second! Superlift has acknowledged that there is a problem and will warranty all springs that have sagged. They are currently shipping new springs with a HIGHER spring rate for 4.0L Rangers and Exploders. I know that most of you don't want a higher spring rate but its a trade off for less sag over time. I believe that the present coils are 450lbs/in but I don't know what the new ones will be. They'll be shipping in about 1 week. The phone # is 318-322-3458 and ask for customer service. My own coils have sagged about 1" and I'm now running 5.5" coils on 4" holes in the drop brackets. I actually like the ride height so I think I'll stick with this setup (just big enough to run 33x10.5's).

Good luck all!

Cheers

Dale

Ranchos sag too...

Don't feel bad ... my first set of Rancho springs sagged, also. I replaced them under warrenty with a stiffer (OK, higher spring rate) spring. To date, the new ones have only "settled".

Once I put on a winch and second battery, I'm sure that will be too much for the springs. Then it's time for custom. More expensive, but you get the height and spring rate you want.

Dale, I don't want a higher rate spring so I am not going to bother with Superlift... unless someone wants really stiff springs then I will warranty them and sell the new ones. Other than that I will be going to a set of custom springs but not until I get my engine swap sorted out and get a winch and bumper. Most likely that will be next spring. I just need to have some springs that work right now. I got the Skyjacker 6" coils for $182 from Ontario. That is $68 cheaper than I could get them locally. For all you curious people that is $123 US
