GTECH performance PRO meter

I received my new GTECH performance PRO meter last night. I've tried the 0-60 and 60-0 function so far and got a consistent 9.2 seconds 0-60 and a poor 176 feet 60-0. The 0-60 time is as good as the 5.0 and close to the SOHC times. All I've done to my OHV is an FIPK and 2.25" Magnaflow catback, Taylor wires and Bosch +4 plugs. I'm going to try the horsepower mode after I take the truck to a weight station to make sure I get an accurate reading. Anyone else ever use the GTECH meters then a true dyno or track run? Are they really that accurate? They claim +/- 1/10th for 0-60 times, +/- 2 feet 60-0 braking and +/- 3hp for horsepower mode. It also has Gforce readings which I don't think I will ever need. BTW, I found out that the speedo needle doesn't keep up with the true speed of the truck. The meter stored the 0-60 time and the needle only read 56 or 57. That might be due to the 255/70 tires though.

I made ten 0-60 mode runs today on a flat surface at the Beacon train station and got better results. My new times are: 0-60 9.1 seconds, 60-0 braking 163 feet. I got the truck weighted at 4458 pounds. With that input in the Gtech I ran ten horsepower mode runs, 5 with OD on and then 5 off. I ran to 70 then braked on all runs. I got two different horsepower readings. With OD on I got 143 horsepower. With OD off I got 156 horsepower!!! The Gtech says it measures "delivered" or "rear wheel" horsepower. Now I want to have the truck dyno'ed to see if it's true but the only place that has one in my county can't do it because of the Controltrac system.

The GTech is a bit optimistic. Usually to the tune of 2-3 tenths in the 1/4 mile. It's great for comparing B&A mods, but not as good for absolute times. Stock your OHV has about 120 at the wheels. I'm guessing you maybe have 130 now.

As for the dyno, do the brown wire 2wd mod then you can get it run.

That seems a little high for a 2 door... I thought Sports weighed closer to 4000 and 4 doors weighed closer to 4500?

EDIT: Looking at curb weights for Explorers online, I'm seeing 3900>>4200 for 4 door's

I guess I have a lot of heavy stuff on it, grill guard, step bars, rear guard, then theres all the crap inside. I know the new leather seats are a lot heavier than the old stock ones. The larger 255/70 tires and chrome wheel are heavier as well. Not bad numbers though.

Mine weighed about 4500 with driver when I was done with it.
