Hi everyone,

I hate the stupid looking Explorer emblems on my doors and I want to shave them as many have done. I have heard you can use a blow drier and fishing line and googone to remove them. Is there a way to do this without heat safely? Can anyone post detailed instructions on how to do this without messing up the paint? I am scared that I am going to melt the paint or rip it off.

Anyone? I know a lot of people have done this? Just looking for some tips/advice...

I'd be curious to know, too. I think the 2006+ badges are too big and gaudy looking...would be interested in taking mine off but be able to put them back on since my X is a lease...

Take a look at that link before you take my advice (i didn't yet), but dental floss works well. At least it did for two of my emblems, not sure if they changed the adhesives or anything since 2000. Sometimes if u throw a body shop 5 or 10 bucks, they'll take em off for you, one guy did it for me free of charge so i just tipped him 10 (then its there problem if they scratch ur paint or something)
