Gulches ORV in SC (was Durhamtown)

I have a Jeep friend from Athens that says he is likely to go. He just got it and is still stock but really wants to get out there and see what he's got.

GJarrett, it'd be great to see ya there.

Well I won't be able to make gulches, maybe next year.

If I get my new Explorer built by then, I can probably make it. I'm not too far from there. I'll keep up with this thread :)

Hopefully you can get it done in time

I'm ready to put in my request off. Any suggestions? August 17-19?

In:
01STrunner
Offtrac

Maybe:
LBarr2002
GJarrett
Dan (Offtrac's Jeep friend from Athens)

Out:
colintrax

Did I miss anything or anyone? Hope to see more in the "in" crowd.

If I didn't have 29" street tires on mine I would surely go. It does great on rock and dirt roads with a little mud but i don't know about alot of mud! :( I actually still have the stock rims and tires...

From what I've researched, there's something for everyone at Gulches. Poke around their site for a few minutes if you're interested. I was reassured a bit when I saw a completely stock Jeep Liberty on the rocks.

I can get most stuff done, but am at the mercy of a few things out of my control. For example, I removed the rear locker off of Herc to install on the one I drive now, and the paddle tooth on the slotted spacer was broken. So I tried to order a new paddle spacer but no one stocks them so it's on backorder waiting for Powertrax... who also doesn't have one; they have to make it. Estimated ship date is currently August 10th for the next tooling run set up for that part. That's cutting it pretty close to the date of this run, and that's if I'm lucky enough to actually get it when they estimate they'll make one.

That and a couple of other similar issues are going to make this build a long term one. :(

Theres some trails there for you. And for the harder stuff you can just hop in with someone else. That's what I did a few times and still had a blast.

Gjarrett - good luck with it all.

Shooter had talked about going and possibly bringing some other guys.

I could do that. My wife and 21 month old son would be with me though, so hopping in another vehicle wouldn't be that easy. :) I'm seriously considering this though, even if it were just for the day.

I'd be more than willing to take the time to switch if you're ok with it.

My club is talking about doing a bbq that day, but we haven't made any decisions yet. If its later in the day I may ride up, just have to see.

You mean puttin his car seat in your Trac?

I don't have any experience with car seats other than back when I needed one. But for a couple hours I don't see why not. The one concern I have is some of the trails can have really steep sections or rock shelves.

Haha sorry. I'll still be only 19 in August. I didn't want you to be ready to jump in then see its a kid driving and be forced to sit out when you expected to be on the trails. That statement made a lot more sense in my head haha.
