Had to get my ECM replaced

Came out of work one day, started 1993 EB 4x4 Explorer then it died, would crank but no ignition, had it towed to friends shop. First they thought it was gas related, then electrical, no spark. Never got any CEL , told them about doing the jumper trick to get codes to flash from CEL KOEO nothing happened. They finally replaced the ECM with a remanufactured one. Now I see where they did the jumper trick, and the harnesses are just hanging there behind the Power Dist Box. Dont they plug into somewhere? If they do do I take the chance of shorting out the ecm again.

There may be a plastic cap, but otherwise they remain "unplugged"

Those are connectors for a code reader.
