What I would like to see is someone who has a set, will sell them to you ready to install with Halo and then you ship your lights back. Of course, there will be a pricey deposit on one's cc but I can live with that to forgo the hassle of taking them apart to install Halo lights.

If you are having trouble removing your front bumper, you might want to go to the Blue Ox website and look for their tow packages for the Explorer. I believe you will find online instructions there which help you to remove the bumper to install their hitch. You can use their instructions as your guide.

Hey guys,

I finished this project this weekend. I'll post detailed instructions and better pix when I get some more time to formulate them but in reality, while the project is tough, the actual part of getting the car apart is REALLY easy. Taking apart the headlight is the really tedious, frustrating, mind numbingly annoying part.

Photos below, hopefully the forum will resize... If not, you can view directly @ http://bigreg.com/ExSport/.

Came out really good if I do say so myself.

HIDS setup from Coolbulbs - 6000k
LED strip and Halos from AAC (Oracle brand)

A case and a half of beer went into this thing - thanks Stella and thanks Trumer! HUGE thank you to MikeC for sending me the instructions on removal of the front bumper. After looking over the instructions it was SUPER EASY to remove!!!

More info to follow!

Pictures are waaaay too big. Have to scroll right to see it all.
Better size would be in the 800x600 or 600x400 range.

fixed

nice pictures. you have any looking at the front end

I did not think of this. I can just put the link here. If anyone is having trouble removing their front bumper, this link will bring you to the Blue Ox website which will show you how to remove the bumper. I had to do this for my towing hardware and it is not difficult at all.

Thanks for the instructions! Is this necessary to install fogs? I was hoping I could just remove the splash guards and work from under the car.

You can get to the fogs w/o removing the bumper. You are correct, you just need to remove the splash guards.

have any pictures from the front of vehicle

Halo Lights Install (Need advice & tips)

Hi everyone.

Soon I am going to be installing these halos on my 2011 explorer limited:
http://www.bmcextremecustoms.net/2020foexorha.html

I checked and even though the site says 2012-2014 these also fit the 2011.

I have a couple questions though..
Have any of you ever tried to get into the headlight housing? Is it difficult?
And on the re-seal have you experienced any moisture getting into the housing?
I am going to be re-siliconing it and leaving it clamped together overnight just to be sure.

If anyone has any tips for this kind of procedure that would be appreciated as well.

Thanks!

Welcome to the Forum Chaz1.:wavey:
As per my PM, I have merged your thread with this existing one. There is a link to another thread the mentions Halos as well.
As for baking headlight housings, check out page 9 in the following thread;

Good luck.

Headlight LED Halo

Hi,

I'm going to be opening up the headlights to upgrade the projector for HID's. I figured while I'm in there I would add LED Halo's.

Does anyone have any experience with Halo's? Any recommendations on which product to go with?

Here is a mock up that I put together. Not sure if I really like it. The halo ring is a different color than the LED strip.

@ bosox13, should have looked at my post above. the Morimoto xB has white halo rings when turned off and not the yellow.

Finally had LED halo's installed and added 5k HID fog projectors. All done by www.RIHids.com

Morimoto xB LED Angel Eyes came out with LED rings thats no longer yellow when turned off.

WOLFexplorer - did you get the XSB LED halos? And if so, did you hookup the yellow turn signal for the halos? Just curious if the flashing matches the flashing of the actual turn signal.
