Hello,
Just joined a few weeks ago, and I have to say that this site is awesome! I have had two xlt's ( 97 and currently 02). At this moment she has 83k miles on it, and very little wear and tear on the outside from the daily driving. Unfortunately, my tranny is starting to slightly pull, a/c is out, and the cd changer stopped changing cd's( infact, stopped spitting them out..)
From reading a few trends for compressors and such, I feel like I have to still ask for help. In specific;
1. my compressor switches to "on" when the p.s.i.'s read 40, then turns "off" when it drops to 17. Is it time to replace the compressor? Can i save it?
2. Is it common for tranny to act up around 83k miles? Can changing the oil usually make a difference?
As you can probably tell,I am not much of a gear head as I would like to be, but I sure hope to be there soon with some help. Can anyone help with these scenerios?
Much obliged
