Hard shifting

i replace my transmission three days ago i installed a used one but still it has hard shifting in the 2nd & 3rd shift, the mechanics said it is because new installed, after a week this hard shifting will go automatically.

is what the mechanics said true? does transmission need time to get smooth shifting ?

Welcome to this forum! Why would another used transmission need a break in period? It might have similar issues. Check to see if there are codes.

When a transmission is replaced the computer will have to "relearn" the transmission, this can take a day or two so the mechanic is correct in that regard.

You may not have a transmission problem at all, things like the Mass Air Flow meter (MAF) or Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) can effect the way they work as well. So if the problem persists you might want to take it to someone who knows who these things operate.
