hard starting when cold

I have a 1991 explorer, recently when tring to start it in the morning it will not start on the first try, it just stumbles and stalls. Can any body help me.

What is the fuel pressure when this occurs? Perhaps the brief run of the fuel pump isn't enough to bring the pressure up where it needs to be. You might even try cycling the key on and off a couple of times before starting to allow the pump to run more.
