Well for the past couple of days the 00 EXP with about 165k has been giving me a little trouble starting, this only happens on a cold start, will crank the engine over and it will act like not enough fuel is getting to the engine or not enough spark, if I hit the accelerator it will come along within a couple of seconds, other wise will just labor along and die.
Have pulled some codes, no check engine light has ever come up,

P0155- 02 Sensor heater circuit malfunction( bank 2 sensor 1)
p0171-System too lean ( bank 1)
p1151- ???
The Exp starts great when warm and runs just fine other wise, I am going to look into the fuel filter and the plugs, have no idea the last time they were replaced, been driving this vehicle for about 3k now.
Any good leads or ideas as to what might be a possible problem,or to the point common issues that arise with this model.
Thanks for any help. Mike

I was having the same problem. Try cleaning your throttle body. Mine was absolutely. disgusting, and it seems to have helped the problem quite a bit

clean the throttle body ,spark plugs replacement, and maybe a fuel filter ,

Update, since the original problem I've replaced the plugs and the fuel filter, the truck started great right after then, and has basically since then, before replacing parts the last couple of starts it rattled pretty hard, bad enough to scare me, got to thinking timing chain was gone, anywho, it will now start fine but with just a slight roughness, and at idle it will drop rpm's for a second then come back and will do so as sitting there at idle. I do plan as suggested, will get to cleaning the throttle body. Thanks for the help guys, and still looking for any more issues that someone might suggest that I would want to take care of also.

Up date, finally got around to cleaning the throttle body, was fairly dirty, but did not help the original problem, the truck still starts very rough, for 5 to 10 seconds, makes me think it wants to blow up, if I give to gas it will smoothen out faster, but I don't think this is the right thing to do, I'm thinking fuel pump? What are your opinions. Also as to the original codes that I listed, what possible repairs or part replacements might clear these codes. Thanks for any help. Mike

vacuum leak maybe, those tend to get better as the engine warms up.

i had a very similar problem with my 02 sport. it would start very rough and eventually even out. Turned ou to be the iac valve. cleaning the valve did nothing but replacing the valve completely illiminated the problem.
