I'm in the process of putting a new bumper on my Mounty and with it off you can see how low the radiator sits with the 3"BL. I want to raise the radiator back up. I know people say you can trim the fan shroud but that can cause not enough cool air to be on the radiator.
Instead of cutting it has anyone tried to flip the fan should upside down with the radiator in the stock position. I haven't done any exact measuring but it seems like I would be able to bring the rad back to stock position, maybe have to make little custom mounts for the shroud to rad? If no one has tried it before I think I will try

I just went to a shorter after market aluminum radiator and made new brackets, it doesn't drop below the frame and cools extremely well.

Thanks guys. I dont know if I will cut mine in half to get it off but I'm glad to know it works

Radiator back in stock position

I moved it back to stock position today and I didn't have to cut it. I removed the two cooler lines on the driver side and the upper rad hose on the passenger side. I was then able to rotate the shroud with some minor fudging. The tabs don't line up so, like "rock trac", I zipped tied the top and bottom of the shroud to the radiator to hold it in place. I did have to drill a few holes in the shroud. There fan is a lot closer to the bottom of the shroud now so just make sure you have the clearance before you turn the engine over. I've put 20 miles on it so far and everything is good
