I have been researching the front tow hook situation on this site. It has been my understanding that such hooks will have to be "enginered" to work with the Explorer. I emailed Torrie McPhail at www.fordpartsnetwork.com and he said they had front tow hooks for my '99 Explorer Sport. The part number is F5TZ-17A954-A and they are $ 39.99 ea. - plus hardware. Is this right? Has anyone else bought these and installed them with success?
EDIT: Nevermind. I received an email from Torrie with a diagram of the hooks in question installed on the frame. They are no better than the options described elsewhere in this forum. In fact they wouldn't even look as cool as the Chevy hooks and similar modifications would have to be made. While the factory hooks on the A-arms seem functional (unless in deep mud) I was hoping for a cooler bolt-on option.
