I used a 4 foot extension and a swivel to get mine, after the transfer case was out I could see the top bolts from the back of the tranny. I am pretty sure on the passenger side the dipstik tube and some wiring harness brackets mount to the top one also, it is a 2 piece dipstik tube so after your bolts are out you can pull the tube from the top so you don`t bend it. you can also look through the rubber flap in the wheel wells to see if you can get to them, mine was on a hoist so I didn`t try that but I had to go through the side after all the tranny bolts were out to heat up the y-pipe bolts to get them out
