Head unit help with SYNC

Hello everybody!

I used to own (technically, lease) a 2006 Ford Ranger XLT 4x4 - grey - and beautiful. Couple of weeks ago, I went in for the end of my lease inspection , and drove off with a 2008 Eddie Baur Explorer 4x4. So of course I had a system in the Ranger and wish to put it in the Explorer, but the Explorer has SYNC, which I am getting accustomed to and wish to keep with my old headunit. I had the Panasonic CQ-VD6505U. Anyone have any ideas, besides the Metra Axxess ASFI-01 Interface? If this is all there is, anyone know how well it works? Any and all feedback is appreciated!

Is someone saying you can change head units, yet keep Sync? That would really surprise me. I would like to know if that is possible myself...and how it could be done.

Alledgely, there is an interface that will allow you to retain SYNC and your steerling wheel controls. Guess I'm the first to try it?!
