Thanks, Section. That info is exactly what I needed. Useable, practical torque from 2000-3000 RPM is what I am after.

You are pulling quite a load. Water weighs slightly over 8.1 lbs. per gallon. That, couple with trailer and tank, does make a sizable load and glad to know your X pulls it well. Looks like I am going to have to get busy and try to locate a supplier that still has some ceramic ones in stock. Thanks again, everyone. Mike

Well I just got my headers yesterday, backorder since April. There is a label in them that says the paint is not a high temp paint and will come off.

So like do i have to remove whats on them or can i just paint over with a high temp paint.
:fire:
And to top it off, they should have been ceramic coated. I am gonna call the MFR. later when they open today and find out about it. aaggghhhhhhh!!!!!

Anyone any suggestions about this dilemma??

Also is this gonna take me only 4 hours????

:(

I'd hot-tank them or something to get all the paint off before painting them again with the high temp stuff. That's messed up they'd paint them with $h!t paint and then tell you it's going to come off.

I think my headers took less than 4 hrs to install. But I have a 5.0. and I can change my spark plugs in 10 minutes. :D

For people with the 97-up 5.0's, wouldn't the modification that has to be done to the headers mess up the ceramic coating anyway? I haven't seen the mod, just heard about it.
I know there are many local places doing ceramic-coatings now around here. Just look up coatings-protective in the yellow pages.
You can also send them to Dead Link Removed to be coated.

Lou.

Headers on a 4.0L = fun!!! Yeah!!! My JBA's are a PITA!!! JBA uses a ball joint type flange at the Y pipe, if it ever gets tweaked, even a little, it will leak forever.

The ceramic coating is okay, but like stated above you can get the regular ones unpainted and have the Jet coated
