headlight bult won't come off

hey guys,

need a favor in answer a stupid question

trying to install a set of piaa platinum headlight bulbs on my '97. opened the hood, lifted the panel over headlight, and tried to unscrew the retaining ring over the bulb in order to take it off. for the life of me it would not turn at all! am i missing something? what's the trick? help...

They can be very tight, especially if you haven't changed bulbs in a few years. Make sure you're turning it in the right direction, and just keep at it.
 






From the top they turn towards the drivers side, push the ring towards the housing a lil bit and then turn
 






get someone with small hands to do it, took me 5 mins, couldnt do it, gf did it first shot
 






I have found that it is quicker to remove the battery to get at that sob.
 






Yup, I remove my battery to get at the driver one. If you have the stock airbox you may have to remove that to get at the passenger one.

It's also easier to do with the engine warm since the plastic ring will expand and come off easier. Just don't burn your hands.
