Probably your multi-function switch (turn signal, pass-to-flash, high beam switch).

how do i go about looking at it to see if its bad and can i replace it myself?

he said everything else works just not the low beams.... check the headlight fuses..... the high beams are on a diffent circuit altogether

yup, have you checked the fuses? Each low beam has a separate fuse, they're in the panel on the side of the dash. I think they may also have a master fuse under the hood.

i was told that the headlights arn't one a fuse because that was odd when i saw there was a fuse for them, but i did check the interior panel fuse box and they are all ok, and i looked under the hood, the very small fuses are fine but I cant tell if those big ones are blown or not, and i dont know which one is the headlight fuse, any help there?

in my fuse panel they are cleary labeled... if yours arent for some reason, they are listed in the owners manual... maybe your relay for the hl may be bad as well.... do you hear any click when you turn the switch to on?

That happend to my X too. No low beam. Everything checked out.. like the fuse, the bulbs, connections/grounds. I had the head light switch replaced. It cost me $214 for the switch + labor:eek: It works fine now.

woo thats a lot of money, was the switch BRAND NEW or from a junk yard or what and how much was the switch without labor?

The headlight switch is pretty labor intensive to replace, so a lot of that would be for labor. Regarding my suggestion on the multifunction switch, it is possible for the switch to fail leaving just the high beams on. It switches between low and high beams. If the switch fails, it can fail in either mode.
