can a low beam burn out and still leave a high beam? I bought some (obviously) ****ty xenons, and the low doesnt work on one of them anymore, but the highbeam does.

If its the bulb, Im going to email this guy and complain:
I bought :headlights, turnsignals, and reverse lights from this guy and heres the outcome:

- 1 headlight lowbeam is out
- both xenon turnsignals turned amber after a week.
- cant even tell that reverse lights are xenons.

if he doesnt come through, Ill post his email addy, business name and Ebay ID.. Id suggest you dont buy from him

I know the sealed beams in my old ranger could burn out high or low beam filaments seperately, no reason these wont act the same.

It's probably the bulb. I had the same problem, but it turned out to be an electrical problem. $185 :(

Yes you can burn out just the low or high beam in your headlamp. Also, there is a Ford TSB that warns against using a higher wattage headlamp on the Explorer than it was rated for since it may cause your fuseable links to burn out. I don't know if your Xenon headlamps are a higher wattage than original equipment but if you put a new headlamp in and the low beams still don't work it is probably the fuseable links.
