Headlights won't shut off

I have an 03 Canadian made Explorer with Daytime running lamps. Very random, sometimes every several months, sometimes every few weeks, the headlights will not turn off until you disconnect the battery. Switch doesn't work, nothing works until the battery is dead or disconnected. This last episode, after recharging the battery, I have no hi-beams (a first). Dealer replaced a bunch of the dashboard to the tune of big $$$$. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the site. Did they try to replace the switch for you?

I assume you mean the light switch itself. I'm not sure. I figured that was part of the dash assembly they replaced.

Welcome to Forum! Sounds like you could have an issue the computer which would require you to kill the battery for it to work. Might have a bad wire some place.
