I pulled into my driveway last night, shut the engine off and the blower fan kept running and the instrument needles were still in the operating positions. I wiggled the key around, restarted the engine and shut it off again with no change. I pulled the negative battery lead and everything shut off. Could this be a bad ignition switch or something else? appreciate any help.

Man that's a lot of info. Thanks for posting that. I'll look more after work.

You should also try running a scan on your obdII system. Check engine light may not be on but you may have pending codes. may or may not tell you anything. Also You may have a bad relay or such. Or part of the key tumbler went bad due to the engine shutting off but not everything else. If not then your computer may be getting a positive voltage where it shouldnt be. in that case something melted down and crossed connections.

Thanks. I replaced the switch and it seems to be okay.
