If you like Howard Stern or any other Sirius program that is considered adult content, do not set up MyKey. It is stated right in the manual that once a MyKey is programmed any adult content is blocked on Sirius. You can not change that setting in any menu. The only way to reset your MyKey is with the other key you have that is not programmed and is considered the Admin Key. If you don't have kids driving your car, the only good feature of the MyKey deal is that it keeps track of each programmed key's mileage. Live and learn.

Hope this helps others who like Stern while cruising down the road.

I cancelled my radio subscription, and signed up for an internet streaming subscription only. Same price, but the quality coming from internet streams is worlds better (for both talk and music). I have an iPad mounted on my dash, but you could also use any of the phone apps and stream over bluetooth.

You also get the advantage of the on-demand services, etc. So I can start a show when I want, and listen to it over the course of the day, it will stop when I get out of the car, and start again when I get back in. All in all, much better bang for your buck with the internet streaming. The only drawback is the requirement for a data plan, but I'm still grandfathered into unlimited w/ AT&T so it's a non-issue for me.

Even if you use travel link stuff, you can get that al-a-cart for the radio, and get an internet only radio sub for the same price you're paying for your radio sub. Plus you can use it anywhere (not just in the car)

Thanks for the information. I'm also grandfathered into AT&T but their new plans just released are pretty tempting. Most of the people I know who switched to the newer family plans and gave up the unlimited have saved over 100.00 a month and they never go over their data limits. If I were to go your route I might be sucking the bandwidth on my plan if I go to the new plan. My personal iPad is wifi only so I would have to use my iPhone.

Having the option to never miss a beat once you leave your car is a big plus.

Well if you don't mind being a day behind on the show, you can always download it from on-demand while on wifi, then when you're listening you won't be using any data. (doesn't apply to music, but this is what I do for stern most of the time)

And if your phone is jailbroken, I wrote a tweak in cydia called Sirius4Ever that will allow you to bypass the inactivity timeout so the show won't stop every 90 minutes.

Thanks for the tips 13Sport! When I do have to drive to work its an hour and 20 minute deal each way. Time goes by faster with talk radio than music.

I just switched over to the new plan and so far so good. Definitely saved some money. What is also nice is that your iPhone can be used as a mobile hot spot. Which pretty much sold me since my wife and I have a 10 month old that loves watching streamed shows on PBS Kids and Disney Junior. So using our phones as a mobile hot spot allows us to bring our wifi iPad anywhere.

If you have an appleTV2 you may wanna check out the XBMC add on also. I heard there are tons of kid friendly shows and a million things for the adults also.
