my heat goes on and off. it will come out steaming for 10 minutes then cold for ten minutes. i replaced the thermostat and radiator cap yesterday and it still does it. my temp guage used to fluctuate but now it just stays at right about the cold mark. i had the blend door replaced about a year ago so i don't think it would be that again. when that was the problem i either had heat or not, it didn't fluctuate on it's own. could it maybe be a bad thermostat? any suggestions?

It could be a bad stat but it sounds more like you got air in the system and need to burp it.

ok, i read that you need to burp it after i already had it installed. i did not burp it. how do i do this? it sounds like this is exactly my problem. thanks.

Easiest way to burp the system:

Remove radiator cap when the vehicle is cold. Start the engine and let it warm up. Add coolant when the vehicle is warm and top off the reservoir.
