heat riser

i just ordered a kkm filter and wondering what is the heat riser that every one seems unsure about, do i remove it, leave it in place?....rob

after installing mine with my dad i'm still not so sure what it is. if i remove it will it increase performance? hehe

:CAUTION: :roll: removing the heat riser will cause your truck to be lighter than the warm air under the hood and your truck will float away...nah i'm J/k
Some people remove it some don't, It just warms the air on cold starts, I removed mine with no ill effects. Do a search on heat riser you should find more opinions.
