Winter is just around the corner - a while back I have installed civilian seats into my Utility and now, finally, want to install some switches for the heaters. Any ideas would be appreciated - I was debating just buying one of those sets including all the wiring, switches and relays (won't use mats) and using those to wire the heaters - some I understand used some off the shelf switches and relays... show me how you've done it, please.

Hey Dre :D

Do you just need info on how to wire heaters through a relay and switch, or are you looking for photos as to where they were installed in the vehicle? I can help with the wiring, but not the placement.

Rick, I still have the police center console and am going to utilize it for the switches and to hide the wiring. Just wanted to know what people have done to hook these up, just basic seat heater switches off amazon or ebay and relays or a ready to go wiring kit... that's all. I can get the switches alone for around $15.00 - relays I have, wiring plenty as well. Also, which wires am I hooking it up to?

thanks!

I hope you don't mind me reviving this thread but what switches are you (or others) using for the adding the seat heaters?

I also have the civilian power seats with heat/cool options. I was trying to find heat/cool switches that have a 3 step option for both heat and cool. Do the switches have any sort of built in timer and also what kind of relay are people using? I was going to use one of the Police power connections behind the console to power the seat heater/fans and thought I'd just want to add a relay for when the car is running to turn them on or off.

Pictures and part numbers/links are very welcome and appreciated!

A really cheap and fast way is go to Wally World. They have a seat/back heater on sale today.
In the summer you can screw around with the install if you want. I don't need it as I have PLENTY of insulation back there but the better half is only 97# with NO insulation at all! I just put them in the F-150 and now going to sell the F-150 which mean this summer I know what I have to do!
