Heater/blower question

I have the 2002 explorer and no matter what position I turn the control to blow, it only blows through the dash vents. It won't blow through the defrost or the foot vents at all.

Also no matter how long I let it warm up, I have to be driving it at road speeds in order for it to actually blow hot air.

Any help on these issues would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

It's all going to be damper related. The vacuum actuators over extend and eventually break the plastic tabs they connect too. This leaves you with floor/front vents/defrost stuck in one of the positions. Same with hot / cold and Recycle and or Fresh air. It's a common issue. Can't post links at the moment, but if you google it you'll find plenty of answers.
