Hi all,
I've been reading toons of threads about heater and the blend door. Everybody if I'm not wrong have always heat even setting the temp to 60º.
My problem is, when I turn on the heater, dont matter what temp I set I always get the same temp(very hot), but if I set the temp to 60º it stop to heat and starts to blow cold air. If I'm not wrong again, my blend door is working beacuse I get cold air and I could have a temp sensor failing.

If anybody can help me in how to test the temp sensor would be great.

PS. I tried the Electronic temp control self test but I just got a spining line then all the light comes on and nothing else. Is this normal?

Thanks

I would guess that your blend door shaft is in the process of failing. My EATC did the same thing for a long time............set to 80, get heat.....set to 60, get cold. It got worse and worse until it wouldn't open/close very often at all.

You could start with a simple, quick cleaning of the indoor temp sensor and see if that helps you out some. The sensor is located behind that little quarter-sized vent to the right of your radio. A q-tip and alcohol (for the qtip, not you) will clean it in a matter of seconds.

60 degrees is the lowest temp you can go, right?? I don't have my truck anymore so I cannot confirm. If so, then at 60 degrees, the system will automatically go into Max A/C mode, which will do the same function as if you pressed the "Max A/C" button. So if you get hot air even at 65 degrees, then your blend door is broken.

Hi all,
Thanks for your answers. I want to update you guys with my problem because I've been doing some tests today and I found that the problem is the blend door.
But I have a question for everyone.
What is supposed to do the white pipe conected to the temp sensor vent? , blow air or suck air? mine always blow norm temp air even if the heater is at MAX.

PS. Any suggestion to fix the blend door?

Thanks
