Does anyone make upgraded heavy duty motor mounts for the 4.0? With my doubler I am getting alot of movement of the drive train.

They don't have them listed for the 4.0 on there site just the 3.0. At $200 plus that also seems a bit steep. Guess I may have to just build my own.

Or..

just chain down the engine..

I'm gonna check, but have you looked into Prothane or Energy Suspension...they both make SUPER durable...

Actually, scratch that, I just looked on both sites and they don't make 'em for the 4.0. Prothane doesn't make motor mounts for Ford trucks but does for Dodge and Chevy....WHAT?????!!!!!!!! That makes NO sense.

Energy doesn't make motor mounts at all.

What did you come up with?

Here is what I did for my 2.3...

I will say that I know have to find all the little things that need to be tightened down or kept from rubbing. The bushings are very stiff, but I also know the motor will never contact the crossmember ever again, unlike the originals. And the motor will always be somewhat contained not just flopping around if the bushings ever fail.

check with Duff
