I have a 1996 XLT Explorer I bought for $4800 $AUS. Pretty good but lacks powere off the start. Auto too! 238,000 kms. Needs maybe some new shocks. I would like to give it a lift of some 2 inches. Any ideas how to do cheaply??
What would be the reason for power loss! I am after parts too in Sydney. Rear brake rotors...........Anyone!!

i bought a new 1996 Explorer when they first came to Australia. Loved it. So did the wife. We sold it when we moved to the big smoke (fuel heavy). Sold it in 1999. Wish i didnt now. Still I have this one now and cheap too. Just need help now to do her up. Will upload a pic when I can.

Welcome To The Forum! Cheap 1.5-2 inch Suspension lift would be a Torsion Twist (Also Known As "TT"). and Warrior 153 Shackles. Do a search on here on those two and you'll know how to do'er!

I agree with x92exploder, you can also wait and see if someone sells one on here for cheap via paypal...thats how I got my lift kit.
Oh, and welcome to the forum. Good luck!

welcome aboard

Welcome to Explorer Forum!

Thanks

Thanks for the warm welcome fellow Xplorer members.
Can anyone help me with the lack of power of the start?
Also are the motors in the Xplorers in the US the same as ours in Oz? (4.0 litre V6)

Cheers

Steve
