I have been a member for quite a while, but since this truck has been so reliable, I have never needed to call for help.
Now this has changed.
The truck is a 1995 Explorer 4.0 / 5 speed. The engine light goes on from time to time. Never on start up, but sometimes in a few minutes, sometimes much later, and many times not at all. But...
Idle is a misery. Most of the time it stumbles and dies after a short time, and sometimes it idles at 1500-2000 rpm.
I'm guessing vacuum hose, but before I roll up my sleeves I want to learn how I can use the "Check engine" light to see if it has any clues for me.
While I dig around here looking for such gems of information, if anyone can direct me, go ahead and throw some rocks at me.
