Hello From Joliet, Illinois

I bought a 1993 Ford Explorer for 900 bucks with 163,000 miles about 3-4 weeks ago, i've been searching the site for idea and tips on working on the XLT. So if anything, HELLO from Joliet, IL!

I was just in Joliet about 2 weeks ago. Here I am drivin my lifted expo on 33s surrounded by cars when all of a sudden I see a gray 4 door expo on 35s roll up next to me. Just thought it was wierd seenin a lifted truck in a city. I come out there a few times a year any good wheelin spots?

Welcome to the forums. There is a good spot out east of Kankakee area, but it's private land and you have to know the owners. They have sand dunes, rocky hills and mud pits. I haven't been in about 5 years, but a friend told me they still have it going.

There are quite a few lifted trucks rolling around the area. I unfortunately passed up on an 86 Ford F150 4x4 running on 44's, they only wanted $900 for it but my wife said "NO". lol

Out here, one of the best spots to go to is the "Badlands" as it's known in Minooka, IL which is about 10-15 miles south of Joliet. I've been there with some buddies of mine and its one of the better places out here unless you go somewhere your "Not suppose" to... But i have lived out here all my life and i have seen a lot of trucks with 6" lifts and 33's. Like my dad (Who's been here all his life too) Had an International Harvester Scout II and he had a 9" lift on it and i dont remember what size tires he had but they were huge.

It looked like that but Hugger Orange. But even though this is a city setting, theres still a lot of good places out here still.

I know how that goes, when i went to get this one she originally said no but i eventually talked her into it, which wasn't easy...
