Hello from MN!

Just figured I'd introduce myself (and to get the annoying message to go away). I just inherited a 95 Explorer XLT from my Dad. He decided that after 12 years it was time to move onto something a little more 'plush', in this case a Volvo XC90, so I jumped at the chance to pick up the Explorer.

It's in pretty good shape, but I'm going to be taking a close look at the suspension and making sure things are tip-top there. This forum has a wealth of great information though, and I'm glad I found it!

Welcome! Where are you at in MN?

My mom has an XC90. They are pretty cool.

I'm down in the cities, Wayzata/Plymouth area (right on the border).

Yeah, the XC90 is pretty nice..definitely more car than truck, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Is there any sort of a local club for the Explorers or other 4x4s? I used to be a Jeep guy, back about 5-6 years ago, but even then they didn't have a local chapter or anything that got together.

There are no explorer specific clubs that I know of in the state, but there is a Ford Truck World Minnesota Chapter that occasionally has meets. http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.com/

There are not a lot of MN people on these explorer forums, but there are some. Most are located down closer to where you are.
