2001 mounty
first off, i have a 2001 mountaineer that i want to modify.
(this wont be my first rodeo, i recently sold my 2000 xterra
with 6 inches of lift on 35s)

this is my everyday driver, so im looking to do the bodylift, and
do shakles with a TT...for around 5 to 6 inches, (wanting 35s on
this rig).

ive been reading for 3 days, and searching for 3 days and i just want to
verify that im getting the right BL kit....
im looking at the one from summit racing
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-7888300/

so......my question is........is this the right lift for my truck...????
the whole mercury/ford thing is kinda also confusing me a bit..

thanks in advance for any responses....

:salute:

The 883 is the body lift you need.

Now you do know you will have to make your own bumper brackets as the the body lift is made for a Ranger & not an Explorer/Mountaineer.

x2

Good luck with the install!! :) I know mine was "fun" but i had done all the work myself except for the front 2 body mounts...brother-in-law came to help out with those. Biggest PITA i had were those...still have nightmares about them.. :) lol

thank guys....

yea i have no problem with making brackets.
i had to do the same thing with my Xterra...

my main concern was the steering extention
and the other relocation brackets....

so your saying this summit kit is the same as the 883...???
or would it be better just to get the 883.....they do look exactly alike
from the pics...

thanks again

Pictures can be deceiving....PA883, just look up that and whomever has the lowest price for the kit, is where i would buy (from a worthy dealer that is.). If summit has it marked with a different part# and not PA883, i would steer away and locate elsewhere.

The relocation brackets were simple and straight forward once you figured out what piece they were talking about lol. The steering extension was a piece of cake and i have not had a single problem since installed. The recent mechanic whom inspected my vehicle complimented me on the body lift, stating that he has not seen one completed correctly and look so clean. Bumper brackets were spot on with a little help from the sledge hammer and torch, and then some new holes. Doesn't even look like I ever took the bumper off IMO.

well, the summit kit is made for the same year "rangers" as the 883 kit
so i assume its the same kit...

thanks for all the help
