HELP — external temperature showing three dashes -- NO HEAT OR AC

Regarding programming a new replacement BCM. Is it as simple as I backup the current BCM and then load that backup file onto the new one in Forscan and then restart the car?
That's how it has been explained to me. But I haven't done it myself, and you know how people just say things on the internet. If you can't get it to work you at least have the option of driving to the dealership, putting the new BCM in, and then having them program it.

Save the factory config with original BCM using forscan to ur laptop. Replace the BCM. Reload config from laptop using Forscan. It should be that simple
