sounds like humdinger! maybe the pump body on the tranny is shot and seizing up.....none the less any issue like that sounds like a re-pull

I'm trying to get a good reading of the oil level but I can't start the car to let the oil warm up, should I drain some oil and try to start it?

You would really have to overfill it to have that issue I would think. How many qts did you put in? I am not sure about a dry fill but dropping the pan and changing filter is about 6 qts. Did you fill the converter as much as you could before you put it in? All it takes is a little air bubble or a clogged filter and these 02+ trans' go crazy.

why can't you start the truck? overfill might be a possibility, but not too sure how much it would affect the trans not going into any gears. do you have the shift linkage on correct? i don't think that would cause no gears to work, but it could throw off the positioning.

The converter had enough oil and the trans was dry I put 12.7 as ford recommended me to put in it.

When I removed it I left it in neutral wen I removed it and I put it back in neutral I am going to double check on that as well

It seemed like there was an over flow of fluid once I drained some oil out it turned on now the problem is that the gears are not catching on

If I accelerate in reverse or drive it does not want to go past 3rpm and it also stalls and turns off

When it's off the ground the traction control can go haywire when you hit the gas and set codes without setting the check engine light
