ok so last night i was being rather stupid i wanted to see if i could light up a small burnout before installing my new rims and tires to my surprise it lit one up pretty good and i just took off rolling a burnout then i noticed my od light flashing. today getting in no flashing light harsh shifts from first to second and third. then i got the flashing light and just then the motor had no power it sounded like the fuel pump was cutting out. when i shifted in to first directly it went away now it wont shift out of what feels like second cuz of the sluggish take offs no matter how hi it revs. i tried plugging a few different code readers in to the obdII which i believe is for the pcm and it says no communication i checked all the fuses and there all good. double checked and triple checked. swapping in another transmission is not a problem for me i just think maybe its something different. no check engine light just the flashing OD light and i saw the 4x4 flash a few times as well i was thinking it possibly had something to do with a loose connection to the pcm checked wires going in to transmission all appear fine.

Obd 1

I think 1995 uses OBD I. Get the codes pulled at a shop with a pro grade scanner, then let us know what it says.

from my understanding the pcm was obdII and the ecu was obdI which explains why i have both. im going in Monday to amco to have codes pulled. was hoping i could fix it sooner

OK, I seem to recall that 1995 was a transitional year, in terms of OBD.
Best wishes.

You could just use a paperclip and do it at home.

i cant seem to read these i am confused as to how one reads them. would anybody please care to explain to me in detail?

I'm seeing 637, 621, 622, and 641. (unless I'm seeing things :))

you count the blinks between the pauses. The short pauses are between the numbers, the long pauses are between the codes...

Wasn't sure if you saw this thread, but there is a vid at the bottom that I made, might help a bit too...

Now Im confused. 4x4 Explorer spun one tire relativly easily? were the codes pulled yet? If so, try resetting by disconnecting battery 20 minutes. Then take it for a drive and see what new codes come up. Those should be the true [roblems if any still exist.

it has limited slip it lit up BOTH tires and continued to rev up and attempt to grab second where it bogged down and killed the burnout, i shifted to first and basically tried again but i actually wanted to film it, this was the exact moment i had problems. long story short next day i ended up with this (even tho indicator reads D its actually second ever since i got the truck it never had parking gear despite linkage adjustments. it feels like it is in first gear and i feel no shift occur and this is what i get when its in drive

so
637 Transmission solenoid/circuit failure Shift Solenoid 3 - Transmissions
641 TOT sensor is/was high or open - Transmissions
622 Solenoid/circuit failure - shift solenoid 2 - Transmissions
621 Solenoid/circuit failure - shift solenoid 1 - Transmissions
any idea what could be causing this?

took out all the connectors cleaned them out with electrical parts cleaner plugged everyything back in and its been working flawlessly. it still doesnt explain why i dont have park the linkage on the transmission physically clicks in to reverse but doesnt feel like it wants to go any more when you try and click it in park. i also found out i think i have the 5r55e since this isnt the original transmission it was swapped with a junk yard transmission when the original went out by the previous owner. im going to try and do research to see if park is at all affected and something needs to be swapped for it to work but also going to ask if anyone knows off hand.
