Help! 2006 Performance Mods

Don't want to hijack this thread too much and I'm still a newby wannabe but does anybody make lowering springs for these yet? I've seen some that say they fit the 4x2 but can't find anything for a 4x4. I think, if its practical, that a 2" drop, slightly louder exhaust (about like a stock '06 'stang) with dual tailpipes (if not dual mufflers) would be about perfect. Not sure if my better half would agree on the mufflers but she does complain about having to "CLIMB MT EVEREST" to get in hers. Also, she'd like someone to figure out a way to get a grab handle (like the one on the passenger side) on the driver's side.

I, of course, would like it to have a Mach I style functional hood scoop.

I cannot tell anything bad about that kit, had a 250 miles-trip today and everything was great. As long as you "only cruise" you don´t hear any more than with the stock system, except the trany shifts down for uphilling or something else. Acc. is as good as known ( guess a little better ) but with a lotta more noise, Av.fuel was 17.5 mpg at a speed between 85 and 90 ( with running A/C ), can´t complain.

Based on what you say here, I could install one without my wife really knowing about it (she doesn't get on it all that often) and get more sound when I DO get on it.

As far as a burn out, I haven't tried it with mine yet but you SHOULD be able to turn off the traction control / RSD with the button on the console that has two SS type lines on it.

Crizz, you are a man among men if you drive a 4x4 American Truck with a 4.6 Litre V8 on the AutoBahn when gas is what, $7/gallon?

    :D

actually regular is about 6 US-$ / gal., but rate is rising with holidays, and as they changed VAT from 16% to 19%, fuel was the first that became more expensive.

Decission for that 4.6 V( Explorer was a matter of head :
- need a car w/ high cargo capacity
- 4x4 was prefered for winter-use ( rocky area round here, 1800 ft. alt. diff. between here and some clients are fun on snow )

So, the Explorer is cheaper in insurance, taxes and at least the price of purchase had been much cheaper than Volvo XC70 or Mercedes E230 T4.

Only need to calc all factors before deciding which car is the most economical for the desired usage.
