My 2006 v8 xlt would not start today despite still having some battery power. Tried shifting to ensure it was out of gear, but that didn't help. Next I just started the Ex and it fired up... Now things get weird.
I can't shift into reverse, only forward gears, and once I'm in gear it was staying in gear even with the selector moved to Neutral. Had to shift all the way to park to get it out of gear.
Was able to push it in neutral out of the parking spot and drive in forward gear to the Ford dealer and left at the night dropoff.
Any ideas what the problem might be while I wait for their call tomorrow?
