2000 limited 2wd ford explorer. I pulled the rotor and have properly set the caliper up top to stop it from damaging the brake line. The bearings were not "blue" but I am at 130 thousand miles and felt like it was a good time to replace them.
my concern is getting the outer race out of the rotor. Before i go doing it the wrong way is their any tricks that work especially well for the diy? I don't like to use the trusty screwdriver leaving a nice big gouge and I am concerned about the reliability of DIY vs taking it in to be pressed out. No way will I use a new bearing in an old outer race either. I didn't see any step by step DIY info on the site and wondered if I had just missed it.
Any other common problems i can look into while i have it apart?
If you need a pic let me know.
Thanks
