OK. I have the Ford A4ld manual.
Now, i have no 3/4 shift or TCC lockup. It is a 92 Ford Explorer with 4.0L engine.
I have not checked codes yet but the MIL light is not on.So i found the red wire by the dipstick and it has 12.9V.I checked cont to ground on the red wire.No continuity. But i checked a blue/yellow wire on the EEC side and it had 3.2 Ohms continuity.

Now should the first thing i do is pull codes???

I talked to the trans guy and he said the 92 Explorers did not use the speed control or VSS signal TPS or to trigger the 3/4 solenoid. How does the EEC know when to shift the 3/4 solenoid???
I am getting worried because the guy is tell me to pull my trans and rebuild it.I don't want to do that if i just have to replace a sensor or solenoid. I need some good direction so i can fix this properly.

in 1992 the a4ld trans was not electroince it uses a regular old valve body it uses line pressure to shift the wires are for tcc lock up

Ok update. I removed the trans pan....it was covered in black sludge and sparkly brass stuff, and i meen thick. I removed the valve body and checked the TCC and OD solenoid, work properly and was replaced with a Bosch unit.I tryed cleaning the 3/4 solenoid with brake clean while cycling the solenoid.......but caught myself on fire......
So while i was removing the front driveshaft to drop the trans to rebuild it.......The front pinion was so loose, that i need to rebuild the front diff.So i have to say that the Explorer 5.0L project may be comming sooner than expected.

I forgot to mention......when i removed the trans filter....it felt like it weighed 10 pounds....Just full of crap....So i am guessing lack of lubrication in the trans.

Well i found it.All the OD side in the trans is done like dinner.I had to replace all hard parts in the OD (center support to pump) and seals. I will flush the cooler and then install the trans and see how she drives.

keep us posted, thanks for the update.
