What brand wheel hubs did you use? Some don't play nice with the ABS system. I bought some cheap ones on ebay and now the ABS goes off under light braking and eventually the light comes on. I am going to fix it soon by tweaking the positioning of the sensors but that is another story.

Check to make sure you connected the abs wires properly as well.

i cant remember,i now they were about 100 bucks a piece,my light doesnt come on at all.

My ABS has been out of wack ever since I installed hubs from ebay over a year ago. I finally want to get to the bottom of it and will do so this weekend. My theory is that the sensor is too far away from the tone ring and that the speed signal therefore drops off at slow speeds. The ABS system then thinks that one or both front wheels has locked up and activates the system. Sometimes the light comes on after one stop and other times it will take multiple stops before it comes on.

Are you 100% sure that the ABS system is activating? It sounds as if your problem is the same as mine.

im pretty sure but my light never comes on.

Have you checked the hub nut is tight?

The fact that the brakes feel sqishy (play in the hub would cause the brake disc to push the pads wider) and that the ABS is kicking in when coming to a stop (tone ring moving away from the ABS sensor) does sound like a loose hub nut.

I know as I make the silly mistake last year when I changed a hub and forgot to tighten up the hub/driveshaft nut. BTW It also knackered a brand new hub in the process :(

worth checking?
